This didn't come out quite as I had envisaged, but there's nothing wrong with it so it goes into the box as my first Christmas card of 2016, and I'll try again to make what my mind's eye saw.
For the "world", I stamped the map image on mixed media paper, and painted over it with a couple of layers of gesso, brushing a light dusting of Perfect Pearls in. When it was dry, I cut the partial circle.
For the sky (and I'll try sponging, not brayering, on plain card the next time) I just kept brayering Chipped Sapphire onto glossy card to achieve a slight gradient. When it was dry, I added the sentiment and embossed it. I added Stickles to the embossing and the edge of the world, and then finished it off with a die-cut polar bear and star.

I think this is a wonderful Christmas card, far beyond "nothing wrong with it"! So sweet, and the font on the sentiment is terrific!

Your card has a wonderful sense of HOPE, with the polar bear gazing on the star of Bethlehem!! I think it turned out perfectly, just the way it is, but I will be on the lookout for when you try again to create what your mind's eye saw!

Jaw dropping gorgeous!!! I read your description before I saw the card, I sure wasn't expecting something as wonderful as this my friend. I can't begin to imagine what was in your mids eye - this is perfection on paper. Thank you for the detailed description too, I always learn something new from you Sabrina.

Sabrina, even your "not what I planned" cards turn out sensational. The world is so well done, and I love that cute little bear. Wonderful holiday card.
